Cua Viet Ramp, Vietnam
The Snohomish County was involved in the first beachings at this ramp in Vietnam in March 15, 1967, delivering Marines, ammunition and equipment from Okinawa and Japan. The landing was televised and shown on national TV.

The grass always looks greener from the other side.
Certainly not as the troops remember it.
                                                                    What did he say??

Once while we were out to sea for a few days, there came this message over the PA system. First the Boson whistles, then the message:

"All those who have not done so, do so immediately."
It was only said once, and usually all call outs are repeated. I guess everyone (including myself) just looked at the person next to you with a deer in the headlights stare, waiting for the repeated message. When it didn’t come, of course everyone started asking each other or anyone near "What the hell did he say?" Most were answering "I didn't hear it all". Then, another message came (you can bet all went quiet) and after the whistle:

"All those who took two, put one back."
Now we have another problem, not only have we "not done so", we never even "got one". There seemed to be quite a rush to the Conn for some clarification. Of course they were standing there laughing at the congregation.
