Somehow we gained a 96 hour liberty here for something good we did onboard ship

In addition, I was not aware of an emblem for the ship

No name as yet and it still has all of the original gun mounts.
It has a crane, but I just don't recall it being on there.
It has a cross for the helicopter landing .. I don't recall this either.
I believe this photo was taken during or prior to the ship going to the Marshall Islands in 1953, because when it returned and went into the yards, many gun mounts were removed.
